Maids claimed a thrilling 24-19 victory in a see-saw battle at home to fellow high flyers Buckingham.

Though flanker Andy Raj sealed victory when he touched down from an impressive maul in the dying minutes, Maids would have had the game in the bag long before then had they not squandered three excellent scoring opportuunities or given away several silly penalties while in the Buckingham 22.

Nevertheless, this was a hugely satisfying result against a side that had beaten Maids heavily in their earlier meeting.

Livewire scrum-half Tim Callaghan grabbed himself a brace of first-half tries, full-back Al McEwan added the third and fly-half Dave Goodman kicked two conversions.
